LUCA LETS LOOSE

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins were aggravated. The team was stymied by rookie goaltender Braden Holtby during a 3-0 loss on Friday, October 9, and things weren’t going much better the following night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. CURRY REACHES MILESTONE, BAYDA NETS TWO IN PENGUINS’ WIN

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Syracuse Crunch rode two power play goals and one shorthanded tally through 65 minutes of regulation, but ran into the wall known as John Curry in the shootout as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins posted a 4-3 win on Saturday night. PINK IN THE RINK THIS SATURDAY

The Penguins are teaming up with the American Cancer Society in the fight against Breast Cancer, and you can help by turning the rink pink! For the third consecutive season, stylists from Sanderson State Street Salon in Clark's Summit will be on the concourse putting temporary pink streaks in fans' hair for a $5 donation. PENGUINS SEND THREE TO WHEELING

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned left wings Joey Haddad and Casey Pierro-Zabotel, and defenseman Alex Grant from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced today. Haddad, 20, finished third in points over his last two junior seasons with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (QMJHL). He was signed by Pittsburgh as a free agent on September 18, 2008. PENGUINS ASSIGN THREE TO WHEELING NAILERS

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have assigned defensemen Mitch Ganzak and Dan Henningson to Wheeling (ECHL), it was announced today. Additionally, the Penguins have signed goaltender Jordan Parise to an AHL contract and have also assigned him to Wheeling.
