PENGUINS RALLY COMES UP SHORT IN HERSHEY

HERSHEY, PA- The Penguins rallied for a pair of third period goals, but came up just short in their comeback bid, as the Hershey Bears posted a 3-2 win Saturday night at a sold out Giant Center. PENGUINS DOMINANT IN WIN OVER RIVER RATS

ALBANY, NY - Dustin Jeffrey netted two goals and Janne Pesonen crept closer to the Penguins single season scoring record, as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton downed the Albany River Rats, 4-1, on Friday evening at the Times Union Center. PENGUINS RELEASE CLEAR DAY ROSTER

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have set their roster for the American Hockey League’s Clear Day period, it was announced on Thursday. According to AHL by-laws, only those 22 players (20 skaters and two goalies) listed on a team’s Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remaining five weeks of the 2008-09 AHL regular season and in the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension. WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned goaltender David Brown from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to the Wheeling Nailers, it was announced on Wednesday. WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned forward Luca Caputi and defenseman Jon D’Aversa from the Wheeling Nailers to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced on Monday. PENS BREAK OUT OF POWER PLAY SLUMP, SINK ADMIRALS

WILKES-BARRE, PA - A little more than a month ago, the Penguins were putting the finishing touches on a team record-tying nine game winning streak.
