WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Paul Thompson has been assigned to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Thompson has recorded three goals, four assists and six penalty minutes in 20 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Brandon DeFazio potted two goals and Scott Munroe made 34 saves as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins won their fourth straight contest with a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch on Friday at Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter. The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Eric Tangradi and defenseman Alexandre Picard from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Tangradi, 22, appeared in two games for Pittsburgh in an earlier stint this season. WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Colin McDonald found the back net of twice to help the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 4-2 victory over the Binghamton Senators on Tuesday at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have recalled forward Chris Barton from loan with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. Barton has registered 26 points (15g-11a) over 21 games during his rookie season with the Nailers. He leads all ECHL first-year players in points and ranks third overall with 15 goals scored. Eric Tangradi and Bryan Lerg scored within the first four minutes of the third period to break a 1-1 deadlock, and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins went on to post a 4-2 win over the Hershey Bears at the Giant Center on Saturday night.
