PENS MOVE INTO TIE FOR FIRST IN EAST DIVISION WITH SHOOTOUT WIN

Nick Drazenovic and Andrew Ebbett combined to force overtime with 12.9 seconds left in regulation, then each tallied in the shootout to help the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 4-3 win against the Toronto Marlies on Sunday afternoon. PENS TAKE BITE OUT OF BULLDOGS, 4-2

Andrew Ebbett led the offensive attack with a three point night (2+1), as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins posted a 4-2 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs at the FirstOntario Centre on Saturday night.  The game was the first meeting between the two clubs since a 4-1 Bulldogs win on February 21, 2009. PENS FALL TO COMETS, 2-1, IN SHOOTOUT

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins were less than seconds away from shutting out the Utica Comets, but thanks to a pair or former Penguins came away with a 2-1 shootout loss on Friday night. KUHNHACKL AND RUOPP ASSIGNED TO NAILERS

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Tom Kuhnhackl and defenseman Harrison Ruopp have been assigned to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) by the Pittsburgh Penguins.    Kuhnhackl has collected eight goals, two assists and 22 penalty minutes in 48 games this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.  Last Friday, the 22-year old made his first appearance of the season with Wheeling, skating in the Nailers’ 6-4 come-from-behind victory over… read more

PITTSBURGH ASSIGNS KOBASEW TO WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Chuck Kobasew to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Kobasew has played in 32 games this season with Pittsburgh, including his 600th career NHL game in last night’s 3-1 win at Nashville. KOSTOPOULOS GRABS 20th GOAL IN 2-1 WIN OVER DEVILS

Brendan Mikkelson and Tom Kostopoulos tallied third period goals to give the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a 2-1 come from behind victory over the Albany Devils at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Saturday evening.
