Spencer Machacek stayed red hot for the Penguins, recording his second consecutive two-goal game as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton posted a 6-5 win over the Hershey Bears on Tuesday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena.  The win snapped the Pens’ six-game winless streak (0-3-2-1) and moved them into second place in the East Division standings. WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Denver Manderson has been recalled from loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).    Manderson, 24, has skated in 25 contests this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, netting one goal, six assists and four penalty minutes.  After appearing in just one game for Wheeling last year due to injury, Manderson has compiled 23 points (9g-14a) and six PIM in 2013-14 over 21 games with the team.   … read more

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Brian Gibbons and defenseman Simon Despres from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Gibbons, 25, has appeared in 19 NHL contests with Pittsburgh this season, tallying four goals, five assists and nine points. Dennis Bonvie: One More Shift
