PENS REMAIN UNBEATEN IN HERSHEY, DOWN BEARS 4-2

Eric Tangradi and Bryan Lerg scored within the first four minutes of the third period to break a 1-1 deadlock, and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins went on to post a 4-2 win over the Hershey Bears at the Giant Center on Saturday night. PENGUINS SIGN MERTH TO PTO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed Wheeling Nailers defenseman Peter Merth to a professional try-out agreement. Now in his second year as a pro, Merth has posted two assists and 11 penalty minutes in 13 games with the Nailers. Merth recorded 12 points (1g-11a) and 90 PIM in 2010-11 during his rookie season in Wheeling. WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed Wheeling Nailers forward Chris Barton to an AHL contract. An attendee of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s training camp this season, Barton has recorded 24 points (15g-9a) in 18 games with the Nailers. He leads all first-year players in points and ranks third overall in the ECHL with 15 goals scored. BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Scott Munroe turned away all 25 shots fired by the Binghamton Senators to lead the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 1-0 victory on Wednesday night at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. PENGUINS SIGN HENNINGSON TO PTO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed defenseman Dan Henningson to a professional tryout agreement. Henningson currently skates with the Chicago Express of the ECHL after being acquired from the Wheeling Nailers on October 18. Penguins Recall Defenseman Alexandre Picard

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Alexandre Picard from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Picard, 26, will be appearing in his third stint of the season with Pittsburgh.
