PICARD RE-ASSIGNED TO WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned defenseman Alexandre Picard to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Picard, 26, has played in six games this season for Pittsburgh, going scoreless with a plus-5 rating while averaging 12:32 minutes per contest. read more

PENGUINS BITTEN BY SHARKS, 3-1

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins suffered their first regulation loss on the road this season with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Worcester Sharks on Sunday at the DCU Center. The loss was the Penguins’ third in row as they went winless during their three-game New England road trip with a record of 0-1-0-2. MANCHESTER, N.H. – For the second night in a row, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins went to the shootout and for the second straight game they ended up on the wrong side of the decision as they were defeated by the Manchester Monarchs, 4-3, on Saturday at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
