We’re excited to be holding our first ever PINK STICK AUCTION during Saturday night’s PINK IN THE RINK game between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and wanted to fill our fans in on some of the auction rules in advance.

Penguins players will be using pink sticks during warm ups for the game, and signing them once they come off of the ice.

These sticks will then be transported to the concourse during the first period.

In order to take part in the evening’s auction, fans will have to register and receive a bidding number.  Registration will take place during pregame and the first period at the auction table, and the auction will get underway at the start of the first intermission.

Fans will write their bids on a bid sheet (see sample photo), using their auction numbers as identification.  All sticks will start with minimum bids of $150, and the minimum bid increment for all auctions will be $5.

Bidding will end at the start of the third period, and winning bid numbers will be announced on the videoboard.

Winning bidders will be able to pay for and pick up their sticks at the Penguins Team Store located on the concourse during the third period.

Tickets for Saturday night’s PINK IN THE RINK game are available at the Mohegan Sun Arena box office, online at, or by calling the Penguins at 570-208-7367.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins come out of the All-Star break with a pair of big Atlantic Division contests on home ice this weekend.

The Hershey Bears are first up, when they visit for another EYEWITNESS NEWS FAN FRIDAY on February 2.  Lower bowl tickets for Friday night’s contest are just $14 (while supplies last), select draft beers will be available for just $2 (courtesy of PA Prostate Cancer Coalition) from 6-7:30pm, and we’ll have a pair of Penguins players signing autographs after the game on the concourse.

Fans are also encouraged to wear their favorite gridiron team’s jersey on Football Friday, as we get you ready for Sunday’s big game.

Saturday night is the Pens’ annual PINK IN THE RINK game, as we raise awareness in the fight against cancer.

The Penguins face off against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and the American Cancer Society will be on hand raising awareness of the disease, as well as celebrating those who have fought and are fighting the disease, through several concourse activities:

•Fans are encouraged to stop by Section 101 on the concourse to receive a temporary pink hair streak for a $5 donation.

•A section of the concourse wall will also be painted pink, and fans will be able to leave messages of encouragement and remembrance for those affected by the disease.

•Fans can also pick up Hockey Fights Cancer cheer cards, which can be filled out with the name of a friend or loved one they are supporting.

Additionally, Penguins players will be using special pink sticks during the pregame warmup, which will be autographed and auctioned off on the concourse.

Fans can also support the ACS by purchasing a PINK IN THE RINK ticket package, which includes a $4 donation back to the organization.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are back from the All-Star break this weekend, with a pair of exciting home contests.

On Friday, the St. John’s Ice Caps make their first visit to Northeast PA this season, bringing along former Penguins fan favorite Bobby Farnham with them.  It’s also another Eyewitness News Fan Friday, with lower bowl tickets available for just $14; select draft beers are just $2 from 6-7:30pm; postgame autographs from two of our first place Penguins; and a free Penguins All-Star Poster, courtesy of McCarthy Tire, for all fans in attendance.

Saturday is our annual Pink in the Rink game, when we take on the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at 7:05pm.  The top two teams in the Atlantic Division will be facing off on pink ice, and fans can show their support in the fight against breast cancer by wearing pink themselves.

We’ve also got a great deal benefitting the American Cancer Society and their Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign.  Click here for info on how you can help them in the fight against breast cancer while rooting on the Penguins.

Individual tickets for both of this weekend’s home games are available at the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office or by calling the Penguins at 570-208-7367.
