DEA RETURNS TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Jean-Sebastien Dea to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Forward Carter Rowney has been activated from injured reserve.

Dea, 23, has appeared in five games with Pittsburgh this season, recording one goal and two penalty minutes.  He netted his first NHL goal on January 23 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The fourth-year pro has appeared in 37 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, recording 24 points (10+14).  In 229 career AHL games, Dea has recorded 115 points (58+57).

The Penguins next game is tonight, Friday, Feb. 2 when they host the Hershey Bears at 7:05pm.  Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s showdown with Hershey is also a WBRE/WYOU Eyewitness News Fan Friday with lower bowl seating available for $14 and select draught beers on sale for $2 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. courtesy of the PA Prostate Cancer Coalition.
