Penguins fuel up on Thanksgiving for three-in-three weekend

Wednesday, Nov. 14 – PENGUINS 5 at Springfield 1
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton won their School Day Game showdown with Springfield in resounding fashion. The Penguins scored late in all three periods, including Tristan Jarry notching the first goal by a goalie in franchise history.
Friday, Nov. 16 – PENGUINS 1 vs. Charlotte 2
In a tilt with the first-place Charlotte Checkers, two teams put forth a low-scoring yet thrilling performance. Despite a brilliant game from Jarry and not allowing a goal at even strength, the Pens were edged by the Checkers on a power play goal by Andrew Poturalski the final five minutes.
Saturday, Nov. 17 – PENGUINS 5 vs. Charlotte 6 (OT)
The Penguins and Checkers tapped into their respective high-octane offenses and both rattled off streaks of four-straight goals in this game. Anthony Angello scored late in regulation to force OT, but Charlotte emerged victorious yet again.
The Week Ahead
Friday, Nov. 23 – PENGUINS at Springfield
The Penguins head back to MassMutual Center with a six-game win streak against its main tenant, the Thunderbirds, in tow. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton tied its season-high goal output (5) in their previous visit to Springfield.
Saturday, Nov. 24 – PENGUINS vs. Hershey
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton welcomes its biggest rival through its doors for their third meeting of the season. The Penguins are 1-1-0-1 against the Bears this season.
Sunday, Nov. 25 – PENGUINS vs. Providence
The Penguins will look to exact revenge on the P-Bruins, who outscored Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 7-3 in the teams’ two matchups from earlier this month.

– Tristan Jarry scored the first goal by a goalie in franchise history and just the 14th such goal in AHL history on Nov. 14.
– Jarry is now tied for the most points by a goalie in franchise history (4) with Rob Tallas, Jeff Zatkoff and Sébastien Caron.
– Thomas Di Pauli has now scored a point in five straight games, tying the longest point streak of his career.
– Sam Lafferty is tied for third amongst all AHL rookies this season in points (14).
– Anthony Angello is in a seven-way tie for the most goals by an AHL rookie this season (7).
– Johnson is the only Penguin to have more than one multi-goal games this season.
