The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Garrett Wilson to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Wilson, 27, has played in 14 NHL games with Pittsburgh this year, collecting two assists and posting a plus-3 while contributing to the Penguins’ fourth line and penalty killing unit.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton captain has also appeared in 12 games with the AHL club this season, posting 12 points (6+6) and 34 penalty minutes.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s next game is Friday, Dec. 21, when it travels down I-81 to write another chapter in its historic rivalry with the Hershey Bears. The Penguins’ next home game is the day after Christmas, Wednesday, Dec. 26, against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Puck drop between the Penguins and Phantoms is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
