For the past few weeks, we’ve been highlighting Penguins fans on the FIRST LINE in the fight against Covid-19 on our social media pages (nominate your essential employee, healthcare worker or volunteer here).  We wanted to give you a little more info on some of those making a difference, so every Monday we’ll be introducing you to one of those nominees in our FAN FILES feature.

Today, we’re chatting with Cyrus Matthews.

•Yes, Paramedic/Fire Fighter.

For you, what has been the most challenging part of this transition?

•Meme creation and fixing things around the house.

Is your family, neighbors or community doing anything unique to stay connected?
•There are more families walking around our development than ever before and my kids have been staying connected to their friends and teachers at school online. My town is holding live meetings online you can attend that previously you had to be at in person.

•Cookies, muffins and cake.

Do you have a book, recipe or TV recommendation?
•I like old sports documentaries.

Do you have any suggestions that may help others physically or emotionally?
•You are always in control. Stop for a second and think. Look at what is in front of you, think about your options and act in the safest and healthiest way you can.

What’s your favorite hockey memory?
•The first game I took my kids too.

When hockey returns, what excites you most?
•The fast pace of the game including the hits, shots on goal, and turnovers.
