People gather together from all over the area to enjoy a WBS Penguins game. This is a great way to bring the community together and have something that unifies people of all ages from around NEPA. At the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, we know how important our local community is and that giving back is a privilege we’re proud to have. We have several community involvement programs as well as games throughout the season that support philanthropic organizations.

The GOALs Foundation provides resources and financial support to local organizations that help better the lives of people throughout NEPA. One of our GOALs Foundation programs, Tickets for Tots, provides free tickets to organizations that serve the needs of underprivileged children in the area. This allows families the opportunity to enjoy having fun at a game and spend quality time together. The GOALs Foundation also awards grants to local nonprofits at the end of the season. These grants go to organizations that focus on areas such as physical well-being, health, life skills, education, and hockey. We host various events that raise money for the GOALs Foundation, including 50/50 and jersey raffles.
Encouraging children to read from a young age is an extremely important part of helping them be successful and find enjoyment in reading. Our Robo’s Readers program helps do just that. We understand the value that reading has for children and want to do our part to help them develop this important life skill. Our Robo’s Readers program encourages local school children from kindergarten up to sixth grade to read as many books as they can and track their progress. As a reward for their commitment to reading, children receive one free ticket voucher for an upcoming home game after reading 10 books. Parents can also purchase a ticket at a discounted rate so that the whole family can enjoy a night out together.
There are many local heroes who deserve recognition for their dedication and sacrifices. At the Mohegan Sun Arena, military personnel and first responders can have the opportunity to enjoy a game with friends and family in our Salute to Service Suite. Individuals may be nominated for their service to their country or community, with a winner selected randomly. The winning recipient will receive 12 tickets to the Salute to Service Suite, three VIP parking passes, a complimentary snack package, and recognition during the game.
Active and retired military and first responders can also receive 25% off select concessions during games and active military members can receive discounted tickets for Red Zone and Blue Zone seating.
