The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will battle the Providence Bruins on Saturday, November 27, as we pay tribute to those facing a bigger battle on Hockey Fights Cancer night.
Fans are encouraged to wear purple to the game to show their support, and the team will be doing its part as players use lavender tape on their sticks during the night.
All those in attendance will also receive special ‘I FIGHT FOR’ cheer cards, (download your own version here) which can be used to acknowledge friends or family members affected by the disease.
The Penguins will also be holding a raffle for a special team-signed Hockey Fights Cancer jersey on the concourse during the evening.
Fans can also paint messages of encouragement or remembrance for friends and family on the ice following the game for a donation.
Proceeds from these activities will benefit cancer-related charities, including the Mario Lemieux Foundation.
