Penguins Begin Six-Game Homestand
W-B/S first in division after splitting weekend in St. John’s

Fri., Dec. 6 – Penguins 0 at ST. JOHN’S 5
The IceCaps opened up the two-game weekend set, taking down the Penguins by a score of 5-0.  Carl Klingberg led St. John’s offense with the first two goals of the contest.  Goaltender Eddie Pasquale stopped all 20 shots he faced.
Sat., Dec. 7 – Penguins 3 at ST. JOHN’S 0
Jeff Deslauriers made 30 saves for his first shutout of the season as W-B/Scranton responded with 3-0 win at Mile One Centre.  Bobby Farnham collected a goal and an assist in the contest.  Brendan Mikkelson recorded two helpers. 
The Week Ahead
Wed., Dec. 11 – PENGUINS vs. Springfield
The Falcons visit Mohegan Sun Arena for the second and final meeting of the season series.  Springfield edged the Penguins, 4-3, at MassMutual Center on Nov. 10.  The Falcons lead the Northeast Division with a record of 16-4-1-1. They have the second-best penalty kill in the AHL (89.5%).
Fri., Dec. 13 – PENGUINS vs. Hershey
The Penguins and Bears face off on Friday for the sixth time this year.  W-B/Scranton had won five straight over Hershey dating back to last season before falling in OT, 3-2, on Nov. 30 at GIANT Center.  Brandon Segal has a five-game road assist streak (5a).
Sat., Dec. 14 – PENGUINS vs. Utica
Saturday marks the first-ever meeting between the Penguins and Comets.  Utica is 6-14-1-1 in its inaugural season and is in fifth place in the North Division. Pascal Pelletier leads the Comets with 18 points (5g-13a) and two game-winning goals.
Ice Chips
·   W-B/Scranton is one of three teams in the AHL that has yet to lose when leading after the first (6-0-0-0) or second period (7-0-0-0).   
·   Tom Kostopoulos is two points away from the 500th of his pro career.
·   The Penguins’ last road shutout also came against the IceCaps.  Jeff Zatkoff made 18 saves in a 3-0 win on Apr. 13.

·   The Penguins will be holding their 15th Annual Teddy Bear Toss this Friday and Saturday. Bring a new, unwrapped stuffed animal to help support Tobyhanna Army Depot and Operation Santa Claus.
