For the past few months, we’ve been highlighting Penguins fans on the FIRST LINE in the fight against Covid-19 on our social media pages.  We wanted to give you a little more info on some of those making a difference, so every Monday we’re introducing you to one of those nominees in our FAN FILES feature.

Today, we’re chatting with Jackie Prescavage

Are you an essential worker?

Yes. I am a RN currently working as a Clinical Admissions Director for Genesis HealthCare.

For you, what has been the most challenging part of this transition?

Not being able to be out socializing, spending time with family and friends. Miss weekend road trips.  On the work side, not be able to meet the patients and/or families in person prior to admission to a center.

What hobbies or activities have you focused on while social distancing?

I have been doing some yard work, cleaning and some learning to draw classes on the internet. A walk after work always helps to clear my head.

What type of music or artists do you listen to?

I enjoy a lot of music, but I am a diehard Matchbox Twenty and Rob Thomas fan!   I also enjoy Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Prince, Bowie, the Foo Fighters, and Marc Von Em to name a few.

When you are home, what are your favorite snacks?

Hmm, depends on my mood, but chocolate milk, chips and fresh salsa, Cheetos popcorn mixed with crunchy Cheetos.

Do you have a book, recipe or TV recommendation?

Usually I watch sports on TV, but right now, I have been hooked on 9-1-1, Untold Stories of the ER and A Million Little Things.

Do you have any suggestions that may help others physically or emotionally?

Take care of yourself, go for a walk, relax with some music, whatever you enjoy.  And some days you just need to shut off the news and social media.

What’s your favorite hockey memory?

A few, the triple OT game, The St. Patrick’s Day Massacre, The Stanley Cup parades in Pittsburgh, meeting Billy Guerin and Pascal Dupuis.

When hockey returns, what excites you most?

Being able to go back to the arena and watch the Baby Pens play and to see my hockey friends again.
