Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins head coach J.D. Forrest will be trading in black & gold for red, white & blue, as he jumps behind the bench as head coach for Team USA at the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup Tournament.
The competition features the top players under the age of 18 from eight countries, and takes place in both Břeclav, Czech Republic and Piešťany, Slovakia between August 2-7.
Penguins broadcaster Nick Hart caught up with J.D. last week to talk about the history of the tournament, Forrests’ involvement with USA Hockey, traveling overseas for the first time in a loooong time, and what he’s looking forward to for the upcoming America Hockey League season.
