Penguins win four-straight to stay perfect in the New Year

Friday, Jan. 6 – PENGUINS 5 vs. Hershey 1
Tom Sestito recorded three points (2G, 1A) and a Gordie Howe hat trick in the Penguins’ first game of the three-in-three weekend.
Saturday, Jan. 7 – PENGUINS 5 vs. Binghamton 4
The Force was strong with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as Danny Kristo’s two goals propelled the Penguins to a nail-biting victory over the Sens on Star Wars Night at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
Sunday, Jan. 8 – PENGUINS 6 at Hershey 5 (OT)
David Warsofsky’s overtime goal gave the Pens their fourth-straight victory and the weekend sweep of Hershey. The two teams combined for a whopping six goals in the third period.
The Week Ahead
Wednesday, Jan. 11 – PENGUINS at Toronto
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton looks to even the season series against the Marlies after a 3-0 shutout loss on Nov. 11, the only time the two teams met this season.
Friday, Jan. 13 – PENGUINS at Rochester
The Penguins defeated Rochester, 4-1, in the teams’ only meeting of the season on Dec. 16. The Amerks are an even 4-4-0-0 in their last eight games.
Saturday, Jan. 14 – PENGUINS at Syracuse
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton looks to take a bigger bite out of the season series against the Crunch with. The Pens already won their first two meetings against Syracuse.
Monday, Jan. 16– PENGUINS at Syracuse
The Penguins and Crunch meet again at the War Memorial for a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day matinée, 1:00 p.m. puck drop.

– The Penguins are undefeated so far in 2017 (4-0-0).
– David Warsofsky was named CMM/AHL Player of the Week after seven points (2G-5A) and a plus-7 rating in four games.
– Warsofsky is the third defenseman in Penguins history to be named Player of the Week (Philip Samuelsson, John Slaney).
– Tom Sestito’s three-point night (2G-1A) on Friday was his first since Oct. 11, 2008 when he was with the Syracuse Crunch.
– Sestito eclipsed 1,000 career penalty minutes in the AHL on Jan. 6 vs. Hershey.
– Oskar Sundqvist played in his 200th professional game on Friday, Jan. 6 vs. Hershey.
