The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman David Warsofsky from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Goaltender Tristan Jarry has been re-assigned to WBS.

Warsofsky, 26, is the reigning AHL Player of the week after notching two goals, five assists and a plus-6 in four games last week, helping the league-leading WBS Penguins to four consecutive victories.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Warsofsky has already established a career high with seven goals, and has 21 assists for 28 points in 24 games for WBS. Warsofsky’s point total is sixth most among AHL blueliners. He also leads the AHL in plus/minus (+22), and he owns an eight-game point streak (4G-11A-15PTS).

Warsofsky has appeared in four games with Pittsburgh this season, tallying one assist.

Jarry was recently named to represent the Penguins at the 2017 AHL All-Star Classic.  He currently ranks tied for third in the AHL with 14 wins, and is sixth with a 2.14 goals against average.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins continue their seven-game road trip Wednesday night when they face the Toronto Marlies at 7:00pm.
