The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Josh Archibald from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced on Friday afternoon.

Archibald, 24, has established new personal bests in goals (11), assists (11) and points (22) while appearing in 48 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season.  The fourth-year pro from Regina, Saskatchewan is tied for the American Hockey League lead with three shorty-handed goals and ranks second with a plus-24 mark, trailing only teammate David Warsofsky in that category.

Selected in the sixth round (174th overall) by the Penguins in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Archibald has recorded 54 points (26+28) and 145 penalty minutes in 169 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

A Hobey Baker finalist while playing at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2013-14, Archibald made his Pittsburgh and National Hockey League debut on March 5, 2016 against the Calgary Flames.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are home for a pair of games on Friday (vs. Hershey) and Saturday (vs. Binghamton).  Fewer than 500 seats remain for Saturday’s Military Appreciation Night, presented by MetLife.

Tickets are available at the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office or by calling the Penguins at 570-208-7367.
