The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Derrick Pouliot from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Pouliot has played in seven games this year with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, helping the club move into first place in the AHL’s overall standings.
Last year, Pouliot helped Pittsburgh win the Stanley Cup, appearing in two playoff games. He has 14 points (2G-12A) in 57 career NHL regular-season games with Pittsburgh.
The Penguins’ next home game is Friday, Dec. 16 as they’ll face-off against the Rochester Americans for the first and only time at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza this season. The contest is also an Eyewitness News Fan Friday, with $14 lower bowl tickets, select draft beers for just $2 from 6:00-7:30 p.m., and a post-game autograph session with two Penguins players.
